Nexans AmerCable is pleased to announce Patrick Armstrong as its new president. Effective June 1, 2017, Rodney Cole, who has been with AmerCable since 1994, will retire after serving as president of the company for the past six years.
Mr. Armstrong brings a broad base of corporate management experience to his new position. Since 2005, he worked with Houston-based National Oilwell Varco (NOV) holding US and international management positions in product line, sales, operations and engineering. His tenure included three years in Singapore.
While working full time at NOV, he earned an MBA from Rice University in 2013. He was named a Rice University Jones Scholar for graduating in the top 10% of his class, and exhibiting strong character and leadership. He also holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin.
Leaving NOV was a difficult decision, but Mr. Armstrong was ready for his next leadership challenge. "I decided to join the Nexans family because I was intrigued by the strong brands and products AmerCable has in its portfolio,” he said. “We have multiple opportunities to grow the business, and I am energized by the immense pride our people have in this company!"
Mr. Armstrong and his wife, Farah, have been married for 10 years and have two children. His personal interests include traveling, spending time with his kids and playing golf.
Nexans AmerCable is an industry leader in the production of harsh-environment power, control and instrumentation cables for the oil and gas, mining, general industrial and renewable energy markets.
